William Spring

William Spring is a painter, illustrator and author based in East Sussex. He began his career at 15 working as a cartoonist for magazines such as Private Eye, Punch and The Spectator.

Later he spent some years as an archaeological illustrator, travelling with archaeological teams and working for institutions such as the British Museum.

For the past 10 years he has worked as a children’s author-Illustrator under the pseudonym Alborozo, writing and illustrating numerous titles for publishers worldwide.

Always drawn to nature, he now focuses on his first love of painting and drawing natural history. Using a limited palette his paintings tend to focus on the animal in question, using pose and expression to give atmosphere and presence. William’s work is now sold internationally to collectors.
