Matt Sewell

A 70s kid from County Durham, Matt graduated from Ipswich Art College in 1997. He then spent the next decade working in various jobs while forging a career in freelance illustration and making a name for himself in the burgeoning street art scene.  This allowed Matt to work on exciting projects with trendy 00s streetwear brands and galleries around the world.

During a life changing sabbatical in Australia with his wife, Matt had a Eureka moment - he would return and combine his two loves of nature and art. Huzzah! Over the next years Matt’s love of wildlife was shared through an immensely popular collection of books for Ebury Press and Pavilion Children’s Books, and also a popular licensed giftware range, fundraising and activist work, TV, radio and festival appearances and an ever-growing fanbase.

Matt lives with his wife, two daughters and border terrier in Shropshire. From his garden studio he can spot bullfinches while he paints.

Matt is well known for his beautiful bird and natural history art, but is open to new suggestions too!
