Katherine Child

After completing a degree in Illustration at Falmouth University, Katherine worked as a background artist for animation; went back to the Cornish coast to do a masters in Authorial Illustration; then spent a decade photographing insects for Oxford University Museum of Natural History. Here she was made honorary artist in residence and developed her first book in the museum's airy and abandoned attic studio.

Katherine is writing and illustrating her middle-grade fiction debut, which has an island setting and gentle themes around light pollution. It will be published by Nobrow Press. Katherine is interested in working in picture books, young illustrated fiction and illustrated non-fiction.
