Ian Morris

Ian has a Masters in Illustration from Manchester School of Art. On graduating from his BA in 2017, Ian was recognised by the Association of Illustrators as one of their Top Ten Upcoming Image Makers. Recently, Ian was longlisted for the Klaus Flugge Prize 2022 and nominated for the Yoto Carnegie Medal for Illustration 2023 for his debut picture book The Library Book (Thames & Hudson, written by Gabby Dawnay).

As well as The Library Book, Ian has worked on a variety of commissions including Every Word Tells A Story by Tom Read Wilson (Quarto), and Alfie’s First Fight by Oliver Sykes (Stories Of Care). He has worked as monthly Illustrator for Prospect Magazine’s Upfront article section as well as developing his own projects.

Ian is enthusiastic about encouraging reading and drawing for children, as a Literacy Champion with the National Literacy Trust for Manchester Central Library.  As well as illustrating for other writers, he is also developing his own illustrated stories.
