Heidi Griffiths

Heidi Griffiths graduated from the Cambridge School of Art’s Children’s Illustration MA in 2026. During her graduation show she won the Sebastian Walker Prize for ‘Exceptional Talent in Picture Book Illustration’.

Before starting the MA, Heidi was a self-taught illustrator and illustrated some picture books. However, she felt that there was something missing from her process and approach to visual storytelling and was unsure of her artistic identity, so she decided to pursue the MA. After three years of learning, experimenting and rebuilding her creative process from the inside out, she now feels she works more authentically and intuitively than ever before, enjoying mixed media techniques that allow her to express feelings and energy in her work. Heidi loves to evoke a sense of wonder and fantasy in her illustrations, beginning from observation and then allowing her playful process to guide her in visual storytelling.

Heidi hopes that her stories bring some much-needed magic into everyday life.

She lives in Kent, UK, with her husband, two children, and their pet tortoise, who very often escapes.
