Alex Kirk

Alex is from Grimsby, UK. Leaving school at 16, he was a plumbing apprentice for 4 years before going to Leeds University to study English and Drama.

He wrote two series of the critically acclaimed Radio 4 comedy/drama Living With Mother, staring Alison Steadman, Timothy Spall, Mark Gatiss, Anne Reid, Penelope Keith and Daniel Mays. Alex also wrote four stories for the award winning Crackanory on Dave, and Tales Of Uplift And Moral Improvement (BBC) for Rik Mayall.

Alex was part of the writing rooms for Paddington 2 and Wonka with Paul King and Simon Farnaby.

He has also written and performed in many sketch shows and plays at the Edinburgh Festival and on the London circuit.

As an actor he has been in a huge number of TV comedies, from My Family to Detectorists.

Now writing for children, Alex’s stories are funny, silly, adventurous and charming.
